In the wine world we say that Chardonnay is the winemaker's grape because it is a great varietal for them to add their own personal flair to.
Our collection features three of Phililp's favourites.
2014 Archangel Chardonnay - A traditional method sparkling wine that has been aged on lees for 5 years. We have a long history with this type of sparkling dating back nearly 15 years. This wine is a classic blanc des blanc with a nose of apple, toast and that hint of yeast.
2012 Mountainview Chardonnay - This wine is a study in terroir, being sourced from several of our Beamsville Bench vineyards. The wine is cool fermented and then barrel aged in New and seasoned French oak for about 12 months. The bottle age on this wine has done it wonders and the palate is buttery with mature fruit abound.
2019 Unoaked Chardonnay - This Chardonnay is similar to the Mountainview as it allows the microclimate to do the speaking. Grape growing is about place and this wine is blend of Chardonnay from several of our estate vineyards. It differs from the Mountainview because it is fermented in stainless steel to maintain its acidity and the tree fruit that is up front.
