Angels V is a limited edition wine carefully crafted from hand selected grapes from our 180 acres of vineyards. Angels V began with five barrels from 5 vintages (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006) consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.
This beautiful wine is matured in large, old vats and a portion is siphoned off, bottled by hand, and then topped up with the new vintage, creating a multi-vintage wine going back decades. Angels V represents the winemaking history of Angels Gate from 2002 and tells an important story about our terroir. The wine is intense, complex, and unique.
Bin 95, a limited edition wine, has been crafted with hand selected, quality fruit. Made in the appassimento-stye, the grapes were dried for 80 days before crushing and fermentation. After three weeks of fermentation, the wine was drained from the skins and current vintage wine was added to the skins for further maturation and extraction. The blend of 65% Cabernet Franc Appassimento and 35% Shiraz enhances the fruit characteristics and produces a wine of exceptional body and complexity.

Our Mountainview Merlot, which has been barrel aged for more than 24 months in French oak barrels, is best described as full bodied with rich and balanced tannins. On the nose, this wine offers beautiful aromas of blackberry, plum and smoke leading to a warm mouth feel on the palate with a blend of cherry, plum and cedar notes.

This is the first vintage of this single vineyard designated wine. The Angels Step vineyard is an immaculate vineyard on the west side of the Beamsville Bench. Its 25 acres are sloped at a gradual step down that perfectly highlights everything that the bench is known for: slope, elevation, rich soil, excellent drainage and airflow.
This Pinot Noir is a very gentle but complex expression of the grape varietal. On the nose it has lots of cherry, earth, cedar and a bit of spice. The palate is medium to full with lots of raspberry and cherry. The acidity is really special giving this wine a refreshing note which would make it perfect for food.
The vinification includes more than 14 months in French oak barrels which offers excellent texture and softer tannins to the palate.
Syrah is such an interesting varietal and fairly scarce in Niagara. Our sole source of estate Syrah is a single block in the north west corner of our KEW Vineyard. Its taste profile lies between Pinot Noir and Merlot. The nose is a complex combination of plum, spice, leather and some black cherry while the aging for 14 months in French oak gives the palate a spice and toasty note that makes this wine memorable.
We enjoy pairing this wine with duck breast, lamb, pork or BBQ.
